lonnie and jaymi are so *absolutely* sweet together.  if you saw their adorable engagement session from a few months back, you would have a hard time arguing that.  jaymi has a beautiful smile that lights up a room, or a barn in this case.  ;)  they were surrounded by family and close friends at the lovely cross creek ranch in dover for their wedding day.  what an amazing place to have a wedding, and really fun to photograph, to boot!  both lonnie and jaymi work for hillsborough county schools, which explains all of the adorable school-themed details.  jaymi and the staff at the cross creek ranch did an fantastic job pulling everything together…  see for yourself!  :)

the following photo has an entirely different meaning today than it did the day i snapped it.  the shadowed figure in the foreground is the groom, lonnie’s father.  it saddens me to say that he passed away just short of one week after lonnie and jaymi said their, “I do’s”.  jaymi sent me an email asking if i could go through and send her the images he was in, and this one really stood out to me.  today, when i see this, all i can think of is that he is .exactly. where he was meant to be in this moment: standing back quietly, enjoying the sites and sounds of his son’s wedding.  jaymi and lonnie, i am so sorry for your loss.  May Mr. Choate rest in peace.

i just loved this engagement session!  starr has no less than THREE blogs that showcase her cute family and vintage style that i just adore.  you can find her here, read about her upcoming wedding here, and see all of her fun vintage finds here!  we did their entire shoot in their backyard, and starr styled it all!   how fun!  :)  can’t wait for their wedding!  :)

lonnie and jaymi are the sweetest thing.  their wedding is coming up in just a little over a month, so i figured i’d better get on the ball and share some of my favorites from their engagement session before i share their wedding images!!  :)

so once upon a time i got on an airplane and flew all the way to a little place called los angeles to visit my dear friend courtney lindberg.  courtney is an amazing photographer and also one of the nicest, kind-hearted, most genuine people you’ll ever meet.  and did i mention she is a kick ass photographer?!  she happened to be one of my roommates at florida state, and as funny as life is, we both ended up with careers in photography.  courtney has a heart of gold and i was BEYOND excited when she asked me to help her update her website by coming out to take her pictures!

i’m not gonna lie, taking pictures of another photographer is NERVE-racking.  no matter how well you know your subject or how comfortable you normally are behind the camera, it can make ya ner-vous…  or idk, maybe it’s just me!!    luckily, that feeling DOES subside once you start shooting.

this was a HUGE day for courtney.  not only was i shooting her, but she also hired her friend brad ragland at 201 to film her for an awesome “about me” piece on her blog.  how great is that?!

also, i must mention the shoot was completely styled by courtney, sarah cowperthwaite and amber moon of the amazing pitbulls and posies (remember amber from this post?)  i shot them on the same day as this!  and yes, like i’ve mentioned before, i’m crazy behind with the blog).

so the day started with makeup and hair.  courtney has a network of incredibly talented folks!

i got to shoot a little behind-the-scenes while 2zero1 did their magic!  it was very exciting!

oh and the sweet 4-legged assistant is courtney’s furbaby, lucy.

after the interview part was filmed, we all headed to charmlee in malibu to play shoot!!  isn’t courtney beautiful?!

courtney wanted to do a fun little stop motion video and this is my first ever one!  clearly i’m no film-maker, but we had a great time doing it!!

this was so much fun.  we shot until dusk!  

what a blast this was.  the weekend flew by in a heartbeat, but we had so.much.fun.  courtney, let’s do it again!  xo  ;)

my beautiful friend anita is amazing.  just amazing!  i’ve known her for a long (LONG) time and although she lives all the way across the country in los angeles, i am lucky to call her one of my dearest friends.  :)  she came to town back in january and i scooped her up so we could get some shots for her new venture and passion, holistic health counseling.  she lives what she loves and practices what she preaches.  she also is a certified kids yoga instructor!  if you live in LA and have kids, check out some more information about her yoga in the park sessions.  you’ll LOVE her!!  :)

i had so much fun shooting jenn and luis’s wedding at the mirror lake lyceum in st. pete.  they are so sweet together and i am so glad i was there to document their special day!  :)
